The most beautiful varieties of hydrangeas for the garden

I will start by saying that I will not write about large-leaved hydrangeas (Lat. Hydrangea macrophylla), because they require more special care and often also overwintering in certain conditions, i.e. in a basement or some other cool room where it is about plus 3–5 degrees.

I will focus more on hydrangeas that can grow stably in a bed and do not need to be covered for the winter - tree hydrangeas ( Lat. Hydrangea arborescens ) and panicle hydrangeas ( Lat. Hydrangea paniculata ).

Hydrangeas are evergreen shrubs, beautifully flowering, relatively slow-growing. They grow in sunny or partially shaded areas.
Growing conditions: deep, loose, nutrient-rich and moist soils, with an acidic reaction (pH 5.6–5.8). When planting, it is also good to use microbiological plant fertilizers, which will improve the composition and quantity of microorganisms in the soil, and are not harmful to the plant, humans or insects.

One of the earliest flowering hydrangea varieties is
Early Sensation or Bulk , spreading crown, white flowers turning pink, leaves turning burgundy red in autumn.

Pinky Winky or Dvppinky , inflorescences erect, from white, pink to dark, intense pink.

Limelight is one of the tallest hydrangeas, the most popular variety in recent years (at our garden center). The flowers are abundant, initially lime green, later creamy white, sometimes turning light pink, the leaves are dark green.

Levana is a very handsome and unusual variety, with a delicately sweet scent. The flowers also attract butterflies and pollinators. The flowers themselves look like large butterflies, they are white, conical, the length of the inflorescence is ~40cm. The crown is lacy, does not fall. One of our customers' favorite varieties this year.

Vanille Fraise or Renhy , one of the varieties with the most intense flower color. The flowers are large, white, later turning to dark pink.

Silver Dollar , a richly flowering, compact shrub. The inflorescence is compact, conical, creamy white, lightly scented. The leaves are dark green, likes partial shade. Our customers' favorite variety this year.

Tree-like hydrangeas :
These hydrangeas do not have as many varieties as the panicle hydrangeas, but people's interest in them does not diminish. The crown is usually rounded, and the flowers are also arranged in rounded shields.
